課程概述

本課程的主要⽬的為提升碩⼠班研究⽣下列能⼒：
1.撰寫研究計畫書：例如構思研究主題、進⾏文獻回顧、擬定研究⽅法。
2.進⾏⼝頭報告：例如製作簡報，進⾏⼝頭報告，以及答辯。
3.參與評論與討論：例如應⽤研究法知識，評論其他同學的報告。

The objectives of this course is to improve the following abilities of graduate students:
1.Developing a research proposal: such as conceptualize the study topic, conducting
literature review, developing study methods.
2.Giving oral presentations: such as to prepare a presentation file, to give an oral
presentation, and to respond questions or comments.
3.Providing comments: such as to apply knowledge in research methods to comment
fellow student’s oral presentation.

課程目標

學⽣應能運⽤研究法課程所學之⽅法，提出碩⼠論文計畫書草案，其內容應包括論
文題⽬的重要性、文獻探討，研究問題，研究假說，研究設計，資料蒐集⽅法，與
資料分析⽅法等。

Students should be able to apply their knowledge in health service
research methods to develop a master’s thesis proposal. The content of the proposal should
include the rationale of identified topic, results of literature review, study questions, study hypotheses, study design, data collection, and data analyses.

課程要求

⼀、暑假期間應著⼿草擬⼀份mini proposal，並於開學後第⼀週繳交。該miniproposal ⼤綱如下： 1.論文題⽬ 2.研究背景 (包含研究問題的現況、知識缺⼝、研究⽬的、研究預期貢獻) 3.文獻回顧 (請回顧5~10 篇相關的文獻) 4.研究架構 (包含假說、變項、操作型定義) 5.資料來源 (如：⾃⾏設計問卷、既有的問卷資料、國⺠健康訪問調查資料、健保申報資料等) 6.資料處理與分析 (包括描述性統計、推論性統計、統計軟體、模擬的軟體、訪談資料分析軟體等) 7.研究限制 (例如資料的信度與效度、分析⽅法的限制等) 8.參考文獻。內容請以10⾴(不含圖表)為原則，以Word或 PDF交到CEIBA作業區。
⼆、學⽣應於本學期課程中發表⼝頭報告2次，每⼈每次報告15-20分鐘。報告第⼀次為碩⼠論文背景，包括文獻探討、研究架構、研究假說等；第⼆次為研究設計，包括資料來源、資料分析⽅法、研究限制等。
三、學⽣需分配擔任評論者，每⼀報告者需有1位評論者。評論者與參與討論者均需繳交簡報檔。
四、全體學⽣需對報告者及評論者之表現給予評分，並列入評量參考。
五、報告學⽣最遲需於前⼀週的週五，將報告之內容（簡報檔）寄給評論同學及助教，並由助教統⼀上傳⾄CEIBA及轉寄授課老師。
六、評論學⽣最遲需在當天課程結束後，將評論之內容（簡報檔）寄給助教，並由助教統⼀上傳⾄CEIBA及轉寄授課老師。

Course requirement:
1.During summer vacation, students should startformulating a mini proposal of their thesis and turn it in at the first week of this course.The mini proposal should include: 1) Thesis title, 2) Background (including current status of the study question, knowledge gap, study objectives, and contributions), 3) Literature review (please review 5-10 related articles), 4) Study framework (including hypotheses,variables, and operational definitions), 5) Source of data (e.g. self-designed questionnaire,exited survey data, National Health Interview data, or National Health Insurance Claims data), 6) Data management and analysis (including descriptive analysis, inference analysis, statistical software, model simulation software, qualitative data analysis software), 7) Study limitations (such as reliability and validity of data, analytical methods), 8) List of reference. Please use Word of PDF file and keep the content to around 10 pages (figure and graphs not included)
2.Students should give 2 rounds of presentations. Each presentation is 15-20 minutes. The first round is to present the background introduction of the thesis, including literature review, study framework, and study hypotheses. The second round is to present study design, including source of data,analysis of data, and limitations.
3.For each presenting student, one of the fellow students will be assigned to give comments. Both presenter and commentator need to turn in their briefing files.
4.All the students need to grade the performance of each presenter and
commentator. The average score is 20% of the semester score.
5.Presenting students need to mail their files to commentators and teaching assistant on previous Friday of their presenting date. The teaching assistant will upload to CEIBA and send to the teachers accordingly.
6.Commentators need to send their comment files to the teaching assistant no
later than the end of each class so that teaching assistant can upload to CEIBA and send to the teachers.
